The LOKAL WEAVE series celebrates the rich culture of the Philippines indigenous tribes by showcasing designs and motifs inspired by their local weaves.
The YAKAN Handcrafted Pocket Notebook is about the size of a passport (3.50 x 5.00 inches) that reflects the weaving patterns from the Yakan, an indigenous Muslim tribe native to Basilan. Traditionally, they used natural fibers as basic materials such as abaca dyed with herbal extracts from plants and trees to produce colorful geometric patterns.
COVER
Yapan weaving pattern digitally printed using long-lasting pigment inks on kraft board with white inner lining and treated with a matte water-repellent film.
BINDING
Handstitched page leaves using a durable 0.35mm polyester thread.
